NOMINEES FOR ARIZONA SUPREME COURT ANNOUNCED

The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments has recommended three candidates to Governor Jan Brewer for an opening on the Arizona Supreme Court created when Justice Andrew Hurwitz was appointed to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The nominees are Diane M. Johnsen, Democrat, a Judge in Division I of the Arizona Court of Appeals; Douglas L. Rayes, Republican, a Judge in the Maricopa County Superior Court, and, Ann A. Scott Timmer, Republican, a Judge in Division I of the Arizona Court of Appeals.

 Governor Brewer will appoint the new justice.
