Governor Hobbs appoints Judge Maria Elena Cruz to the Arizona Supreme Court – 1/29/2025

Judge Cruz will fill the vacancy left by Chief Justice Brutinel’s retirement.

In her first appointment to the Arizona Supreme Court, Governor Katie Hobbs appointed Judge Maria Elena Cruz to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Chief Justice Robert Brutinel. Judge Cruz currently serves on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One, and previously served on the Yuma County Superior Court and the Cocopah Indian Tribal Court.
