Eleven Applicants for Vacancy on Arizona Court of Appeals (9/1/2020)

The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments seeks public input on the eleven candidates being considered to fill the vacancy on Division One of the Arizona Court of Appeals created by the retirement of Judge Kenton D. Jones.

The Commission seeks public input on the following candidates:

  • Andrew J. Becke of Murphy, Schmitt, Hathaway, Wilson & Becke PLLC
  • Veronika Fabian of Choi & Fabian, PLC
  • Brian Y. Furuya of the Coconino County Attorney’s Office
  • Hon. Joseph P. Goldstein, a Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem & Commissioner
  • Raymond A. Hanna of the Yuma County Public Defender’s Office
  • Hon. Robert J. Higgins, a Navajo County Superior Court Judge
  • Jared E. Holland of Holland Law Group, PLLC
  • Hon. Christopher L. Kottke, a Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem
  • Benjamin D. Kreutzberg of the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office
  • Serena S. Serassio of the Flagstaff City Attorney’s Office
  • Hon. Rick A. Williams, a Mohave County Superior Court Judge

The Commission will review the applications and hear public comments on September 28, 2020.  During the meeting, the Commission will decide which applicants to interview.  These interviews will take place on October 20, 2020.  Afterward, the Commission will send at least three nominees to Governor Ducey for consideration and appointment.
